Why this matters to us
I learned what generosity means from the receiving end.
When my family went through a hard time, people we barely knew showed up for us. Years later, in Rio de Janeiro, I met my wife, Courtney. We were both volunteering with homeless children: I through a local charity, she through an international program from her school. So when i9media began in 2011, giving our time and craft to causes was never a program we added. It was how we already lived.
We don't do it for the credit. We do it because good people did it for us, and because the same care that builds a brand can carry a cause further than it could go alone.

Service to our industry
2013–2016 · Founding president and chair of the board
Stand Up Paddle Industry Association
We helped found SUPIA to grow the sport of stand-up paddling and the industry around it. Andre served as its founding president and chair of the board for three years, working with an executive director to bring retailers, brands, athletes and ambassadors under one roof.
Together we published industry reports, ran summits and promoted the sport, sponsored by Surf Expo and other trade shows and by brands across the industry, and funded by retail and individual memberships.
