i9media worked with Litra from the very early stages of the brand up until the brand’s acquisition by tech powerhouse, Logitech.From the very beginning of the relationship, i9media was deeply involved in just about every area of the brand’s operation, from the basics of setting up the company’s I.T suite to global and multi- lingual branding campaigns, weaving a comprehensive and thoughtful strategy every step of the way. That fully immersive contribution has been largely credited for the successful business that it became. When i9media first partnered with Litra, there was virtually no operational plan or process in place, not to mention no digital plan. The company had one flagship product, a non- functioning ecommerce website and a Facebook page of less than 700 followers. Once i9media got involved our team set up the foundational blocks for the brand, built a functioning D2C ecommerce website, set up and managed social media accounts, built and managed an ad plan, did media production, graphic design, newsletter marketing, team management and more. After just 5 years from the brand’s initial launch to consumers, Litra became a well-known brand globally in the photo and video lighting industry leading to the brand being acquired by Logitech, largely due to the efforts and strategies put in place by the i9media team.

Before i9media, Litra’s website was on Wordpress, a popular open source software for content management systems. The website functioned for both branding and sales. Many of its critical functions were broken due to plug-in failures, there were several security patches that were outdated and the UX/UI were out of pace with consumer expectations and the industry. i9media deplatformed the website from Wordpress to Shopify, completely redesigned the UX/UI, and executed on several SEO, shopping and branding projects over the years. Those efforts helped position Litra as a leader in its space, leading to the company’s acquisition by Logitech.

Prior to i9media getting involved, Litra’s website was broken and consumers were unable to make purchases on the website. After partnering with Litra, one of the first projects was to get the brand set up on an ecommerce platform that was capable of doing D2C sales and that functioned in sync with the wholesale efforts, while meeting the best-in-class standards of user experience, both informationally and aspirationally. In just a few short years the Litra ecom went from 0% of overall brand revenue to roughly 20%, becoming a meaningful source of revenue and at healthy profit margins.
Social Media
When i9media first started working with Litra only one platform, Facebook, had been created for the brand. The page likes on the account were less than 300 and the content on the page was non-existent. i9media stepped up to the plate and created accounts across Instagram, Twitter, Tumbler and Pinterest for the brand. i9media handled all of Litra’s social media, from sourcing content from ambassadors to creating content internally for the social platforms. And what’s more, i9media also created social media accounts for regional partners across the globe and handed over curated and brand approved content batches for regional partners to use as a resource across their pages. In just a few short years, i9media grew Litra’s social presence to over 25,000 followers and generated 8.9% of Litra’s total D2C brand revenue until its acquisition.

Newsletters
As a startup, Litra had no email marketing service platform in place where they could communicate with their customers, dealers, team, distributors, agents, and more at scale. Once i9media got involved, we set up Litra on Mailchimp, integrated it with their analytics tools and ecom platform and got the ball rolling. i9media built templates for B2C, B2B, Media, Ambassadors, Dealers, ..., developing them from scratch utilizing Litra’s logo and branded fonts. What’s more, several automations were also built to better nurture and convert customers en mass. The i9media team curated and set up a calendar of topics for weekly blasts and executed on these newsletter builds solely in house. i9media executed on sourcing and creating all content that was used in each newsletter that was sent out. At the time of acquisition, Litra’s email database had gone from zero contacts to over 150k contacts in just a few years. Additionally, from first email blast to acquisition, the newsletters that i9media had sent out contributed to 11.32% of Litra’s D2C overall brand revenue.

Media Production
Prior to i9media’s involvement, Litra had almost no media. There were very little digital assets to use and these assets weren’t the highest of quality. Once i9media stepped in, the i9media team set up and coordinated photo and video shoots, detailing everything from storyboarding, to creative direction, to drafting talent+photographer/ videographer media releases and more for each of Litra’s flagship products. i9media also created media for the Litra brand, in house, at minimum on a weekly basis. Most notably, i9media’s in-house team shot all of Litra’s products the results of which were used across the website, digital and printed catalogs, packaging and more. i9media also created initiatives for Litra’s ambassadors/team to create media for the brand, all of which i9media managed and coordinated resulting in a constant flow of media for the brand.
i9media’s in-house team was the sole resource for creative and graphic design for the entirety of the Litra brand before the acquisition. When i9media got involved the only branded asset on hand was the Litra logo. i9media took this challenge head-on and went on to design assets, both B2C and B2B, for the brand that included basics like the brand style guide (colors/typography, etc.) to the highly detailed design of all product packaging. Every creative asset the Litra brand had was done by the i9media team. These items included print and digital ads, tradeshow booth design, website graphics, catalogs, pop displays, business cards, apparel, user guides and more.

As part of the business revenue stream marketplaces were crucial in providing and showcasing Litra’s products to consumers in a mass market space. In order to stay competitive with other brands in the landscape i9media opted to take advantage of the Amazon and Ebay marketplaces. i9media set up the accounts, integrated them with the ecom store, built and designed the branded pages for each platform, set up the product listings and managed the listings and inventory management after going live. Additionally, the inclusion of the marketplace sales channels provided Litra’s retailers and distributors valuable resources for the brand that helped drive sell-through on their own seller listings.
Team
Before i9media’s involvement Litra had no plan in place for their team/ambassador program. Once i9media got involved, the i9media team spearheaded this program and completely set up Litra’s team/ambassador program from its start until the brand was acquired. During the tenure of this program the i9media team did everything from vetting prospects to drafting contracts to coordinating gear being shipped to managing the team communication and nurturing the relationships built there. Through this team program the Litra brand had access to thousands of images/video content for the brand to use as an internal resource and across it’s various channels, in turn, saving the brand a ton of money on what would have otherwise been needed to be spent on additional photoshoots to generate content. And what’s more, the i9media team also spearheaded and fully set up and coordinated Litra’s referral program which generated over 1,100 referrers and contributed more than $120,000 to the brand’s overall online revenue.

Public Relations
As a startup, public relations work is crucial in getting the brand noticed by consumers. Before i9media, there were no PR efforts in play for the Litra brand. After i9media started the i9media team quickly started working on PR efforts to get the brand noticed by consumers. As part of these efforts, i9media tackled the labor intensive task of working on obtaining 3rd party reviews from both media and influencers in the industry on Litra’s products. The i9media team researched reviewers in the various market verticals that would be a fit, reached out to these reviewers, sent them gear and managed the relationships over the years. These efforts generated hundreds of product and brand reviews across youtube and other media outlets and in large part added to the success of the Litra brand. And what’s more, in other PR efforts, the i9media team was responsible for submitting the Litra product line for various industry awards and over the years Litra was awarded more than a dozen awards from notable industry outlets adding further credibility and gravitas to the brand.
Lead Generation
As noted on other tracks, as a start up Litra had essentially nothing set up when i9media came into the picture. As a startup, it’s essential for new businesses to generate leads as quickly and efficiently as possible, keeping CAC (customer acquisition costs) as low as possible. Through lead generation efforts, i9media made this happen. i9media set up and coordinated on brand hosted giveaways as well as collaborated with other brands on their giveaways to collect email leads and grow Litra’s email database. For the brand hosted giveaways, i9media’s internal team did 100% of the work, from outreach to collaborating brands, to building the campaigns on the website, to graphic design, social media, advertising and more. Through these lead gen campaigns, i9media generated over 100k new leads/email contacts to add to the Litra database, further increasing the brand’s ability of generating revenue from its internal assets.
Product Development & QC
i9media was incredibly close in its working relationship with the Litra team. i9media had intimate knowledge and understanding of not only the brand but also its products and operations. Throughout the course of the working relationship with Litra, the i9media team was able to help identify market needs as well as tackle issues with some of the products released to market. i9media identified problems with production units leading to updates in product design, came up with ideas for new products and provided feedback to Litra’s product development team on improvements to products to address. i9media was so close to the operation and product development that the i9media team even created Litra’s brand and product slogans that were used for all of Litra’s flagship products.
Asset Management
Before i9media, Litra not only had no asset management platform setup to store and access their digital assets, but they didn’t have any digital assets to even begin with. With i9media’s work, all of Litra’s digital assets were organized and stored in the cloud that i9media created for the brand. Included in these assets were photos, videos, protocols, product info, website assets, catalogs, marketing packages, packaging design files and more. Because of the organization and cloud access for all these files, the company became highly efficient in its use of work-hours and easily made its assets available to its various partners, leading all the way up to a seamless handoff during acquisition.
Crowdfunding
As a startup, Litra had to be conservative on resources when working on new product launches and sourcing new leads. That being said, together with i9media’s recommendation, Litra decided to utilize crowdfunding to gauge interest on their new product to be released as well as raise funds in order to build production units. The i9media team handled this campaign from start to finish, creating the campaigns on both Kickstarter and Indegogo, designing the campaign graphics and marketing tools (landing page, social media posts/ schedule, ad units) and more. The campaign ended up being incredibly successful with the goal being met in under two hours post launch and in total generating more than 7.5x the initial revenue goal, representing hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional cash on hand, without giving up equity or incurring interest from bank loans.
