Overview
AAAA Auto Storage & Car Park’s business is a multi-generational business that was facing steep competition from relatively new players. The company was losing market share and a turnaround was urgently needed. The existing contractors (some well-known names) were managing advertising and the website, but with little transparency and accountability. Results were not enough to fend off competitors. i9media was happy to take on the challenge to drive the turnaround. i9media implemented an in-depth SEO strategy, modernized their website and branding, revamped their social media and took over the management of their online advertising. Through these and other efforts, AAAA is not only still in business but is the leading car storage provider in the San Diego area with multiple keywords ranked nationally at #1 on organic search placement. As to those key competitors, they are no longer in business.

Before i9media, AAAA Auto Storage was at the bottom of the barrel on search visibility relative to its competitors. So it was no surprise competitors were rapidly gaining market share. AAAA hired i9media to help with all things digital, with the first major project being SEO. Through the strategy and execution implemented by the i9media team, AAAA quickly became the leader in search visibility. That, together with all other digital efforts, made AAAA’s customer acquisition cost much cheaper than that of its competitors. Within a short time, those key competitors folded and AAAA cornered the market. To this day, AAAA ranks #1 nationally on a number of keywords related to their industry.
Website
Before i9media got involved, AAAA’s website was off brand, not optimized for mobile, outdated, expensive and slow to update. What’s more, the website was also on an open-source platform, Wordpress, with lots of bugs and outdated plugins, making it highly vulnerable to cyberattacks. i9media built a brand new website on an up-to-date version of Wordpress, consistent with the brand’s style guide, and highly functional both on mobile and desktop. And to keep up with i9media’s philosophy of improvement paranoia, the website was updated several other times, later transitioning to a fully-supported, modern and secure platform, Squarespace. During each of these transitions, i9media ran a highly disciplined website launch process to minimize loss in search visibility. More often than not, websites are launched with complete disregard for their SEO profile, sometimes resulting in more than 50% traffic loss. AAAA didn’t have that problem and its SEO performance remained intact. Over the years, i9media has continued to optimize the website and constantly improve its share of search engine visibility. Under i9media, website traffic increased 15x and consistently sees greater traffic, averaging 26% increase in website visits and 24% increase in unique users on an annual basis.
Advertising
Before i9media, AAAA was working with an advertising agency that provided no insights on spend and gave no analytics or results, leaving the AAAA team in the dark on how their advertising campaigns were performing. Once i9media took over, AAAA not only received the transparency they deserved but also solid results on their ad campaigns. Through i9media’s strategy and ad plan, more than 5 ad campaigns across multiple platforms (Google, Facebook/Instagram, Microsoft/Bing) were set up and are currently managed by the i9media team. Over the years i9media’s ads have captured hundreds of leads, delivered millions of impressions and driven thousands of website visits, all of which contribute to AAAA’s success in the digital age.
Local Listings
Business listings across the web can be cumbersome to update since there are countless places where your business information could be listed. Before i9media, AAAA had no system in place for managing listings across the web. Basic listings like Google My Business and Yelp weren’t even set up. Once i9media stepped in both Yelp and Google My Business listings were created and verified. To this day, i9media’s team manages these listings online. More than that though, i9media utilizes MOZ Local to monitor the accuracy and syndication of those listings, since these are a critical source of customers for the business. This includes updating hours of operation, posting updates on the company, curating images and videos on the account and more.

An often overlooked element of maintaining a business is making sure a reputation management plan is in place. Before i9media’s involvement, AAAA had no plan or infrastructure in place to not only obtain reviews from customers but also monitor these reviews and address any that needed attention. The i9media team set up this plan and actively we help them track their reputation, route customer messages, and guide them in the handling of crises and special customer service tickets from multiple listings across the web
Through i9media’s work with AAAA Auto Storage, i9media has designed and contributed multiple graphic design assets for AAAA. Most notably, i9media delivered a branding overhaul that included a new logo, color scheme and type and developed a brand style guide. Additionally, i9media’s in-house team has designed many collaterals including flyers for both digital and print, price sheets and more.

As a small, local business, social media functions as a trustmark and support for potential and current clients. Before i9media, AAAA’s social media accounts were on the back-burner and had little activity. Once i9media took over, its internal team started posting to AAAA’s Facebook and Twitter pages, building a brand narrative and engaging with the community there. That consistent stream of expert content together with responsive social engagement helps to boost customer confidence in the business, leading to greater conversions and customer satisfaction. In recent years across AAAA’s social media accounts, we’ve seen a 20% increase in net audience growth annually.
Systems Integrations
Before i9media partnered with AAAA, the systems in place internally didn’t include the digital landscape. With i9media’s guidance and support AAAA began to transition to the digital age. Whether it was rebuilding their website on a different platform, setting up their local listings online, building their instant quoting system to calculate quotes for customers or setting up their scheduling system, i9media’s efforts put better systems in place for AAAA which allowed for efficiency and analytics insights to move the local business forward and set up for success.
